Grape Comes To This Nike Air Max Plus
Updated on •PublishedThe “Grape” colorway has made its way across various Nike models throughout the years, popularized by the Air Jordan 5 and Will Smith's iconic role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. While other Air Max models in the past have carried this color, Nike is choosing to dress the Air Max Plus in “Grape” during the Air Max lines 35th Anniversary.
The usual Air Max Plus construction is present with its white mesh upper secured by multiple fused plastic overlays that form a wave-like pattern. Accenting this upper is the mudguard that runs from toebox to heel, coming in the famous grape purple. The same color also appears on the eyestays and in a white to purple gradient on the various fused plastic overlays. A black mesh tongue comes together with the sockliner and laces to provide the accenting emerald green piping to pop. Located on the emerald insole is Nike branding alongside purple grapes on the vine, alluding to the colorway. More emerald hits are found piping the black Nike Swoosh on the midfoot and down below in the exposed Tuned Air units. Finishing off the "Grape" look is a white midsole and black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max Plus Grape is set to release sometime in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $175.
