Sean McDowell’s vacation to Florida was one of the best things for his career. It was here that McDowell was inspired to create the iconic gradient patterns and wavy overlays of the Air Max Plus, a sneaker that has since become a staple in Nike’s lineup since its OG release in 1998. While we just got an official look and release date for the upcoming One Block Down x Nike Air Max Plus collection, a new inline Air Max Plus has appeared, themed after shark-infested waters.
The mesh base comes covered in a water graphic on the upper, which we've seen on many Air Max Plus colorways. Black TPU overlays inspired by palm trees line the profile, while bloody red hues line the black mini Swoosh and the tongue tag. Nods to sharks are found via the added hang tag, which comes with a black shark tooth, and on the insole, which features a Nike logo surrounded by a shark's jaw. Other details on the upper include:
- Black TPU near the toecap.
- Black leather on the mudguard and heel.
- A black sockliner.
Underfoot sits a black Air Max Plus midsole with red Air units and a bloody red rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max Plus Shark Attack has been released early at select retailers but will see a wider release through Nike and select retailers during the Holiday 2024 season. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
