Over at The Swoosh, plenty of sneaker mashups have occurred over the course of their 50-year history, including the recently released Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer which merges two of their running models. In light of the Air Max line’s 35th Anniversary, another hybrid model has emerged which combines the Air Max Tailwind and Air Max Plus, forming the all-new Nike Air Max TW, appearing in a "Racer Blue" colorway.
Coming in a combo of mesh and leather across the upper, the silhouette incorporates a wavy design pattern along the midfoot that takes cues from the Air Max Tailwind’s curvy design aesthetic. Along the toe, a leather mudguard with yellow Nike Swoosh embroidery compliments the two-tone white and blue toebox. More two tones come in the form of the yellow and blue eyestays that house a set of white laces, working up to the “TW Air Max” window atop the tongue. Back towards the heel, more curvy shapes appear with blue piping surrounding the heel overlay and collar. Underfoot, a double-stacked midsole featuring blue Cushlon foam and an Air Max Plus cushioning system is paired with a rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max TW Racer Blue is slated to release in the Fall of 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
