Created for legendary tennis player John McEnroe, the Nike Mac Attack was first introduced in the 1980s and blends athleticism with a rebellious attitude. After decades out of rotation, the Mac Attack silhouette is making a grand comeback with a small naming change this year. McEnroe's no longer has a deal with Nike, causing it to forgo the "Mac" portion and call the model merely the Attack. After garnering excitement with the reveal of a collaboration with Social Status and possible hints at a Travis Scott makeover, Nike has more in store for fans with the return of the OG colorways, one of them being "White Black."
Like the other OG colorway on the horizon, this black-and-white rendition stays true to the original. It features a pristine white leather and mesh upper accented by black details on the leather Swoosh, collar, and heel overlay. Retaining the original features that made the Mac Attack a hit, the shoe includes perforations on the end of the mudguard, a checkerboard tongue tag, and Nike branding on the heel. A white sockliner, tongue, and lace set add to the clean look, while the white midsole and grey outsole round out the design.
The Nike Mac Attack White Black will release in on September 14, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
