Packs of sneakers that follow a similar theme have been commonplace in the industry for decades now. Whether that be through collaborations like the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 in its three hippy-inspired colorways or inline releases like the “Sun Club” theme that blessed a variety of Nike silhouettes over the summer, The Swoosh is continually creating packs of releases. Already seen on the Nike Air Max 90, the “Animal” theme (which brings an array of faux animal prints) has just appeared on the Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage.
Coming in a classic all-white leather upper, panels that normally would be covered in suede take on various animal prints similar to those seen on the aforementioned AM 90. These can be seen via the snakeskin on the toe, the reptile print along the profile, and a mismatched all-black reptile print along the lateral side with a zebra-patterned suede making it to the medial side. Running along the eyestays is a grey tone suede that hosts a set of white laces, both of which accent the vintage-looking mesh along the tongue. For the tongue tag and insole, Nike branding appears in red with a slashed graphic really adding to the animal theme. Our final hit of Nike branding is present on the leopard print heel tab, featuring “Nike” text embroidered in a contrasting red hue. Rounding out the design is the sail rubber midsole paired with a matching rubber outsole.
The Nike Blazer Mid 77 Vintage Animal is set to release on November 24th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $115.
