The rollout of Devin Booker’s first signature sneaker, the Nike Book 1, was met with plenty of criticism online. Many were disappointed with the fact that Book previewed multiple PE colorways that, in all honestly, were much more interesting than the simple and neutral color schemes planned to launch the silhouette. While many of these colors were considered PEs at the time, it turns out that Booker was giving us previews of potential releases as Nike will launch the ‘95 All-Star colorway alongside the Forrest Gump PE.
Inspired by the 1995 NBA All-Star Game, which took place in Phoneix, the sneaker comes with a mixture of premium suede, canvas twill, and glossy leather, the former of the three materials taking over the mudguard, eyestays, vamp, heel overlay, and tongue. Most of the upper comes coated in Phoneix’s purple hue, present on the aforementioned panels, the canvas twill midfoot, and the glossy leather collar, while pops of orange are placed on the stars debossed on the heel and the book spine-inspired pull tab. Pops of aqua green line the black patent leather Swoosh and take over the lace set. Minor tweaks to the branding are found on this pair, adding the number 1 near the lateral toe and changing the “96” on the pull tab to “95” to commemorate the year of the All-Star Game. The black midsole with an orange and black rubber outsole containing Zoom Air cushioning is rounding out the look.
The Nike Book 1 '95 All-Star will release in Summer 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
