Devin Booker's rise to NBA stardom has been paralleled by his growing presence in the sneaker world, culminating in his signature sneaker with Nike: the Nike Book 1. After tantalizing fans with limited PE colorways, like Be Legendary and Cool Grey, the debut Clay Orange is set to launch in December 2023. Following this ultra-limited pair, the upcoming Spring 2024 collection promises a wider release with the Ashen Slate and Light Orewood Brown versions. Additionally, the Book 1 is poised to receive a Moss Point colorway, a nod to Booker's high school basketball days and his 2019 collaboration on the Air Force 1 Moss Point.
The Nike Book 1 Moss Point takes inspiration from Booker's high school in Mississippi, showcasing a greyscale palette that reflects the school's colors. The sneaker utilizes a diverse mix of materials, including leather, suede, and canvas, to create a rich, textured look. The greyish-blue leather adorns the toe, mudguard, canvas midfoot, and collar, while tannish suede graces the vamp and eyestays.
The design includes a tag on the tongue reminiscent of the one found on Booker's Air Force 1, featuring unique details honoring Moss Point High School. One of the most striking features is the metallic silver heel overlay, embroidered with the phrase "Yes Ma'am" in black, a personal touch from Booker. This phrase and a mini Swoosh on the mudguard directly reference the Air Force 1 Moss Point, bringing elements of Booker's past into his current signature model. A creamy foam midsole and a semi-translucent rubber outsole complete the look.
The Nike Book 1 Moss Point will release in 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
