Nike has continually pushed the boundaries of thematic tie-ins with its Dunk Low silhouette, bringing fresh and creative designs that pay homage to various cultural and regional icons. In the latest tribute to the city of brotherly love, Nike introduces the Nike Dunk Low Philly. Unlike the unofficial Nike SB Dunk Low Phillies, this release officially represents Philadelphia as the campaign was shot with the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, The Phanatic, and comes in partnership with crafted local sneaker boutiques Lapstone and Hammer and Creme321.
The Nike Dunk Low Philly features clean white leather underlays paired with cracked leather and suede overlays in grey hues, providing a textural contrast that elevates the sneaker's aesthetic. Kelly green accents are present on the lace set, which also includes the geographic coordinates of Philadelphia, adding a personalized touch. The tongue tag and sockliner boast a vibrant multi-color pattern, complementing the Philly branding on the back heel tab. Completing the look is a clean white midsole and a blue rubber outsole, ensuring that the sneaker not only looks good but also offers reliable comfort and performance. In a unique twist, the Philly Phanatic himself will receive a custom pair, highlighting the city's deep connection to its sports culture.
The Nike Dunk Low Philly is set to release on May 30, 2024, at Lapstone and Hammer and Creme. The Dunks will also drop via DTLR and the Phillies team store on June 1, as the Philadelphia Phillies host the St. Louis Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park. A final release via the Nike SNKRS app is set for June 18. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $135.
