As we approach the new year, we’ve been hit with multiple previews of sneakers that celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities, particularly the zodiac animal in 2025 — the snake. Nike has prepped several different sneakers that feature Year of the Snake motifs, like the AF1 Low for men and women, a Dunk Low for kids, and a Pack of models from Jordan Brand. However, there are more subtle nods to this zodiac, as seen with the recent snakeskin AF1 Low Pack. Joining this thematic collection of snakeskin-covered sneakers is an all-new Nike Dunk Low.
Faux snakeskin details in an ashy hue take over the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay, while the base layer on the toebox, midfoot panel, and collar come in an off-white shade. Platinum Violet hues contrast these more neutral hues via the Swoosh, heel tab, tongue label, and sockliner, the latter featuring a more muted color. More Nike branding details are located on the heel, which comes embroidered in a tonal violet shade, and along the tongue tag, found in a shade closer to that found on the Swoosh. Finishing the design is the tonal rubber midsole that matches the hue of the snakeskin overlays, contrast stitching in violet on the midsole, and a violet rubber outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low Snakeskin Medium Ash Platinum Violet will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $125.
