Ja Morant's impact on the NBA floor has been nothing short of exhilarating. Despite the Grizzlies and Morant not being “fine” in the West during the NBA Playoffs last season, Morant's agility, skill, and charisma shined. The 2022-2023 season marked a significant milestone for the rising star, as he both introduced his signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 1 and celebrated his second All-Star appearance. With the Ja 1 having etched its mark in the sneaker-verse, it's a given that it would partake in the yearly All-Star festivities from Nike. Now, following early images of the Chinese New Year rendition, we have first looks at the Ja 1 All-Star.
Decked in a lively palette of colors, including bright crimson, black, volt, bright mandarin, racer blue, and wolf grey, the Ja 1 in the All-Star colorway preserves its characteristic mesh and leather architecture. Bright crimson commands attention on the mesh toebox, leather mudguard, and on the vamp. A sharp volt color distinguishes the top half of the eyestay. Purple splashes adorn the tongue, proudly displaying the Ja Morant emblem, complemented by added Nike branding and Ja Morant text.
Venturing to the rear, black mesh and ripstop form the collar and heel, highlighted by an orange Swoosh, harmonizing with the sockliner. The insole showcases a compelling graphic reminiscent of phone reminders, specifically noting an "SP24 Footwear Meeting" and a "Workout" alert. A wolf grey foam midsole anchors the design, peppered with blue segments near the toe and culminating with a semi-translucent rubber outsole, bearing Ja Morant's quote from when he signed with Nike back in 2019: "Now I'm proud to say I work for the check."

The Nike Ja 1 All-Star will release February 16, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizes, the retail price is set at $140 and $105, respectively.
