Nike continues spotlighting its next-generation athletes, with Ja Morant's partnership being a cornerstone of their efforts. Despite the challenges and controversies, Nike's support for Morant remains unwavering, especially with releasing his signature sneaker, the Ja 1. As summertime approaches, Nike is set to release a special Nike Camp edition of the Ja 1, exclusively for kids, as part of a broader collection that celebrates the spirit of youth basketball camps.
An homage to the playful and adventurous essence of summer basketball camps, the Nike Ja 1 Nike Camp features a vibrant multi-color scheme across its mesh, leather, TPU, and Velcro construction. The front half of the sneaker showcases navy overlays, transitioning to white on the forefoot and the back half of the mudguard. A pop of purple on the mesh midfoot, Velcro heel, and canvas tongue adds a layer of excitement, while the tongue's Velcro finish allows for personalized styling with Nike Camp-themed patches. These patches draw inspiration from outdoor basketball play, inviting kids to customize their sneakers in a nod to their personal experiences and stories from camp. Completing the design, a white midsole and semi-translucent rubber outsole with a marbled pattern ensure durability and traction.
The Nike Ja 1 Nike Camp GS will release on May 25, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in GS sizing, the retail price is set at $105.
