Despite being sidelined for the second half of the NBA season due to shoulder surgery, Ja Morant's influence on and off the court remains strong. Nike has continued to push out various colorways of the Ja 1, keeping fans and sneakerheads excited. Following the success of the limited edition Scratch colorway, which drew inspiration from the Minnesota Timberwolves retro uniforms with its distinctive claw marks, Nike is now set to release what was once a player exclusive: the Ja 1 Reverse Scratch.
The Nike Ja 1 Reverse Scratch brings a fresh twist to Morant's signature line. The sneaker showcases a clean white upper featuring leather and mesh. The leather mudguard, forefoot overlay, and mesh base are all dressed in white, providing a crisp backdrop for the contrasting details.
Black accents come into play with an embroidered scratch on the lateral toe and a black Swoosh, which also features a white scratch mark, adding a dynamic touch to the design. The brown tongue tag offers a subtle contrast, while a vibrant red ripstop overlay on the heel injects a pop of color. Underfoot, the sneaker boasts a blue and white midsole with black scratch marks near the heel and a white outsole to complete the look.
The Nike Ja 1 Reverse Scratch will release on July 1, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
