Ja Morant’s signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Ja 1, has become a favorite for hoopers thanks to its performance-focused design and low cost. While Morant himself has been caught up in plenty of controversy off the court, Nike continues to push forward with new releases as part of their Fall/Holiday 2023 lineup, including the upcoming "Wet Cement."
This rendition of the Nike Ja 1 comes with its standard construction of mesh, leather, and TPU; this time splashed in laser orange. Along the tongue tag, a black base hosts mismatched Ja logos - a deeper orange on the right pair, while a lighter shade adorns the left. This contrasting theme continues with the "12" embroidery on the heel. A sleek grey hue drapes the TPU Swoosh, leather heel tab, and sockliner. The design is rounded off underfoot by a grey foam midsole paired with a marbled grey rubber outsole. All of this comes packaged in a special Ja Morant-branded box.
The Nike Ja 1 PE Wet Cement will release August 10, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
