Even with a roster full of aging stars, Nike Basketball is still a dominating force in the performance basketball market. Alongside inline silhouettes like the upcoming Nike Cosmic Unity 3, The Swoosh is preparing a changing of the guard with athletes like Ja Morant. Even though the Grizzlies superstar has been covered in controversy lately, his Nike Ja 1 has a slew of colorways both this Spring/Summer and Fall/Holiday season. For the latest Ja 1 to be revealed, Nike and Morant cover the silhouette in a clean “White Light Smoke Grey” colorway.
Across the silhouette, we see a combination of neutral shades with a few pops of color, courtesy of the Ja Morant logo-laden tongue tags. Like other Ja 1 colorways, a mismatched effect is applied to select details on the upper, with this pair featuring its leather side panels in different shades of grey. Aside from the white base layer comprised of mesh, the rest of the details throughout also partake in a mismatched look. This includes different colored Swoosh logos, heel counters, sockliners, and heel tabs. All of this swaps between shades of black and grey, while the sole unit below also comes in varying colors. On the left pair, a stark white midsole is applied with grey on the outsole, while the right sneaker features a creamy midsole with a white rubber outsole.
The Nike Ja 1 White Light Smoke Grey will be released on August 11, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is set at $110 and $90, respectively.
