Coming off of a season-ending injury in January 2024, Ja Morant hopes for a full campaign in the 2024-2025 NBA season. During his time off, his partners at Nike were still dropping new colorways of the Ja 1, his first signature sneaker, while working on finalizing the follow-up model, the Ja 2. After an unveiling last month and previews of colorways like the Nightmare, X-Mas Treetopper, and Night Vision, early images of a pair made for Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League, EYBL, have made their way online.
Radically different from the Ja 1 EYBL, you’ll notice a gradient pattern applied to the toebox and mudguard, starting in a gold hue and transitioning into a light cream shade as you move up. Chrome branding details for Ja Morant and Nike EYBL are found on the right and left tongues, respectively, while standard branding for Nike comes placed along the midfoot as a chrome Swoosh. Surrounding the Nike Swoosh is a white base layer that appears bubble-like. Final details include the golden-tan lace set, heel counter, and the foam midsole below.
This Nike Ja 2 EYBL currently has no confirmed release information, with the pair likely being a PE for Morant and those who attend Nike EYBL.
