Originally paying tribute to his Aunt Pearl, who suffered from breast cancer and unfortunately passed in the year 2000, on the Nike KD 4, Kevin Durant has released at least one all-pink colorway on each of his signature silhouettes. Images have recently emerged of his latest model, the Nike KD 15, in the elusive "Aunt Pearl" colorway.
A mixture of satin, suede, mesh, and plastic dresses the upper of the silhouette, most of which takes on various shades of pink. Down on the toe, a mesh base comes in light pink with tonal laces above sitting on the white satin tongue. Placed on top of the tongue, intricate KD branding is embroidered in 3D velour with the tongue lining featuring a direct nod to Aunt Pearl and the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation. Along the midfoot, a plastic cage in tonal pink houses a Nike Swoosh that reaches back to the suede collar. Back on the heel, the pull-tab gets covered in a deep pink suede with Aunt Pearl text in cursive font on the right foot and a rose on the left. Underfoot, a two-tone pink midsole is paired with a pink semi-translucent outsole.
The Nike KD 15 Aunt Pearl is slated to release on October 21st, 2022 through Nike and select Nike Basketball retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
