As a kid from the small town of Akron, Ohio, LeBron James shattered all expectations and has risen to become (to some) the greatest basketball player to grace the hardwood floor. Staying humble throughout his 20-plus years in the spotlight through initiatives in his home state of Ohio, James is gifting the men’s basketball team at the University Of Akron a duo of PE colorways of his Nike LeBron 20.
Coming in the universities color scheme (with one pair inverted from the other), the sneaker remains unchanged from a typical LeBron 20 sans the added Akron Zips logos on the heel. One predominantly features white shades with pale gold hits weaved throughout while the other comes in a navy blue, however, each sneaker takes these accenting shades and throws them on the laces, eyestays, tongue, and other details around the model. Double Swoosh action remains and the white pair comes with a pale gold and navy blue combo while the navy pair utilizes pale gold and white. Underfoot, the midsole gets split with white featured on the back half of both pairs while the toe portion comes in a shade matching the upper for each. Rounding everything out is the navy and gum outsoles on the white and navy pairs respectively.
The Nike LeBron 20 Akron PEs unfortunately are set to remain an exclusive for players on the Akron Zips men’s basketball team. For detailed looks at the two pairs, check below.
