LeBron James' journey with Nike is a tale of innovation, performance, and basketball heritage, evolving over two remarkable decades. Since the debut of his first signature sneaker, each installment of LeBron's series has pushed the boundaries of basketball footwear technology and design, mirroring the athlete's growth and evolution on the court. Now, days away from the 2023-2024 NBA season beginning, Nike has officially unveiled the LeBron 22, The King's latest performance basketball sneaker.
The LeBron 22 is set to make its mark with a suite of advanced technologies and a design philosophy that prioritizes LeBron's current needs and the next generation of hoopers. "We engineered the LeBron XXII to match his powerful and agile playing style," says Ross Klein, Senior Director, Men's Basketball Footwear Product Design. "To move with the force and precision LeBron needs, we focused on delivering maximum lockdown control, all while maintaining the speed, lightweight feel and court connection that he's loved in his recent signature models."
Coming in low-top form, the silhouette utilizes premium materials and elevated performance construction to handle the demands of LeBron James' game. Technical features include an updated Nike Sphere collar lining, a top-loaded shank plate, a molded midfoot stability saddle, a top-loaded forefoot Zoom Turbo unit, Cushlon 2.0 foam, and a bottom-loaded 13mm heel Zoom unit. Nike describes this new midfoot saddle as a guardrail that provides a natural sense of control and stability.
The Nike Lebron 22 will debut in the Moonlight (aka Crown Jewel) colorway on November 1, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Other colorways, like the Royal Pulse rendition, will launch during the Holiday 2024 season. Available in men's and GS sizing, the retail price is set at $180 and $140.
