Paul George’s sixth signature sneaker enters a new realm collaboration-wise. He has consistently collaborated with Sony on a Playstation-themed colorway, but since Playstation is still on it’s fifth version, Nike is looking elsewhere for inspiration. Mattel already teamed up on the Zoom Freak 3 for an UNO collaboration, with a few other Nike models like the Air Force 1 and Offline 2.0 Slides avoiding the “Skip” on the pack. Now, the PG 6 is Mattel’s new canvas for collaboration as they bring out another popular toy of theirs: Hot Wheels.
The Hot Wheels theme is on full display here, from the sneakers, down to the box, and packaging. The upper is a blue-to-red gradient from midsole to ankle collar, a pod of red at the midfoot and a textured pod of black at the heel. A reimagined Nike Swoosh is lit in a Hot Wheels flame on the lateral side of the shoe, while on the medial side has Paul George’s jersey number printed like it’s on the side of a race car.
The tongue is printed in black and white checkerboard with the “PG” logo on the right shoe’s tongue and the Hot Wheels logo on the left. The white wraparound outsole features hits of orange React throughout, and a single black traction pod on the heel. The box is a red base with a blue flame print engulfing the black PG logo, with Hot Wheels, Nike, and PG co-branded paper to round out the collab.
The Hot Wheels x Nike PG 6 is set to release on November 19th, 2022. The sneakers will release on Nike and at select Nike Basketball retailers in men’s sizing for a retail price of $120. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
