Nike, a brand synonymous with skate culture and streetwear for over two decades, is venturing into new territory with the launch of its first kids'-exclusive skate sneaker, the Nike SB Day One. This release marks a significant milestone for Nike SB as it aims to cater to the younger generation of skaters, offering them the same quality and design that adult skaters have enjoyed since the brand's inception.
The Nike SB Day One (GS) is engineered with young athletes in mind, focusing on stability, support, and lightweight comfort. By removing excess foam, the sneaker reduces weight without compromising cushioning, featuring a Zoom Air unit in the heel for responsive comfort during skate sessions. The upper combines durable suede with breathable mesh, ensuring longevity and airflow, which is essential for active kids. The design is enhanced with a prominent Swoosh across the lateral side and a reversed Swoosh on the medial, adding a touch of Nike's iconic style to the mix.
Nike SB is launching the Day One in an array of kid-friendly colorways, including Black White, Black Gum, Court Blue White, and Sanddrift White, each offering a versatile look that seamlessly transitions from the skatepark to the classroom.
The Nike SB Day One GS released on April 1, 2024, is now available to purchase through Nike, and select Nike SB retailers online and in-store. Available in grade school sizing, the sneaker retails for $80.
