As the sneaker world continues to honor the legacy of Kobe Bryant, the anticipation for new releases from his iconic Nike line grows. The relaunch of the Nike Kobe line in 2023, highlighted by the debut of the Nike Kobe Halo series, marked a pivotal moment for fans and collectors. In a much-anticipated move, the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro is set to return in a Halloween-themed rendition. Alongside this Kobe 5 Protro, we are expecting a variety of colorways on the Kobe 8 for Fall 2024 and the return of the Olympic Kobe 4 in the Summer.
The Nike Kobe 5 Protro X-Ray is expected to resemble the Nike Air Force 1 Skeletons, coming in blue, baltic blue, and glacier blue blend. Kobe's wife, Vanessa Bryant, teased the glow-in-the-dark feature on this Kobe 5, and we can confirm that the pair will be released in time for the Halloween season. Regarding tech specs, we can expect the same high-performance features that have defined the Kobe 5 Protro. Upgrades such as a Cushlon midsole replacing the original Phylon for enhanced comfort, alongside added Zoom Air units for superior responsiveness, will ensure that this iteration continues to meet the standards of modern-day ball players.
The Nike Zoom Kobe 5 Protro X-Ray will release in October 17, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and grade school sizing, the retail price is set at $180 for men and $120 for GS sizes.
