Palomo, renowned for its high-fashion flair, has again teamed up with Puma to deliver an innovative twist on classic footwear. Building on the success of their previous loafer-sneaker hybrid, Palomo infuses Puma's athletic heritage with a fresh edge, offering two exquisite colorways of the Nitefox Loafer and a new Palermo colorway. This collaboration comes at the perfect time as athletic brands have begun to push forward various hybrids combining athletic footwear and penny loafers, as seen recently with New Balance’s 1906L model.
The Palomo x Puma Nitefox Loafer has two distinct versions designed to cater to diverse tastes and occasions. The Frosted Ivory pair showcases a luxurious leather upper, with a sophisticated metallic grey finish on the tasseled tongue's hardware, presenting a pristine and polished look. In contrast, the Teak colorway offers a warm, earthy appeal with its suede construction and identical metallic details, emphasizing a more casual yet refined style. Both versions boast debossed Palomo branding on the lateral heel and a co-branded insole that marks the collaboration. The design is grounded by a tonal foam midsole derived from Puma’s Nitefox, ensuring comfort without sacrificing style.
Alongside the loafers, Palomo has designed a new colorway for the Puma Palermo. Premium suede and leather details are present across the upper, doused in vicarious red and pink hues. Burgundy red hits the suede toe cap, vamp, and collar portion of the lateral midfoot, while the medial side gets a lighter red leather on the collar. The medial side gets a pink suede on the midfoot, matching the Formstrip on the lateral side. A debossed logo inspired by ‘80s court sports sits atop the leather tongue, and underfoot, the design is complete with a gum rubber sole unit.
The Palomo x Puma Nitefox Loafer in Frosted Ivory and the Palermo will release on May 11, 2024. Later in the year, the Teak colorway of the Nitefox Loafer will hit shelves. All three pairs are set to drop through Palomo, Puma, and select retailers both online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180 for the loafers and $120 for the Palermo.
