This year, Patta and Nike revisited their first Air Max 1 collab with the Chlorophyll colorway coming back in OG fashion. Following that original 2009 project, the duo worked on multiple Air Max 1s, including the Wave series, which saw the Monarch, Noise Aqua, Rush Maroon, Black, Dark Russet, and White colorways released. Now, according to Bubblekope. Patta and Nike are teaming up for an Air Max 90 project in 2025, bringing the Wave theme to the silhouette.
Following these initial reports, Edson Sabajo, co-founder of Patta, posted an early image of a Patta x Nike Air Max 90 Waves on his Instagram. The pair he's sporting features a metallic silver mesh base, grey overlays along the mudguard and midfoot panel, and a black leather overlay with a wavy design. Patta branding in blue gets placed along the tongue tag, right above the traditional Air Max branding. Continuing the blue theme are the TPU panels on the lower eyestays and the Air Max branding window near the collar. Finishing the design is an off-white foam midsole with a blue TPU surrounding the Air unit in the heel paired with a black and blue rubber outsole.
As of this writing, the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 Waves project has no confirmed release date but is rumored to come out in mid-2025. When this does release, expect a drop via Patta online and in-store and Nike SNKRS. Pricing details have yet to be confirmed.
