Pharrell Williams Unveils New Louis Vuitton Sneakers for 2025
PublishedHaving to follow in the footsteps of Virgil Abloh is no easy task. Pharrell Williams knew this when he was named the head of men’s fashion at Louis Vuitton in 2023. Since taking on this role, he has dropped a handful of viral collections, like the Timberland collaboration, and helped collaborators like Takashi Murakami and Tyler, The Creator, bring their vision to the luxury fashion house. With 2025 still getting underway, Williams took to his Skateboard Instagram account to share images of a new Louis Vuitton sneaker.
With Pharrell being so influential in the streetwear scene of the 2000s, it’s no surprise he has channeled that energy into his designs at Louis Vuitton, especially here with this brand-new sneaker design. Similar to his BBC Ice Cream sneaker line, Phat Farms, and the Nike Cortez, this beefy silhouette has a simple retro aesthetic. A lineup of color options is previewed in Pharrell’s Instagram post, showcasing tonal monochromatic builds alongside a mixture of vibrant solid colors, two-tone colorblocking, and Damier print-covered versions of the sneaker.
As for its design, the sneaker's shape immediately draws comparisons to Nike’s Cortez model with the small leather strip at the toe, stitching details, and heel overlays. However, the fat tongue, enlarged proportions, and LV logo on the midfoot stray from Nike’s design language falling more in line with the aforementioned BBC Ice Cream sneakers and Phat Farms.
Pharrell Williams’ new Louis Vuitton sneakers have no confirmed release date, but with a preview coming this early in the year, expect a release sometime in 2025. As is expected with any item from the luxury fashion house, retail will reflect the premium price point LV commands.
