Footwear brands are not only gearing up for the Easter holiday this coming April but also for the stoner-friendly April 20th celebration of weed. While we often see subtle nods to the substance with colorways that resemble the often green/purple plant, Reebok is giving us more overt nods to the substance with its upcoming “420” collection. Already seen taking over the Reebok Classic Leather, another 420-themed sneaker, the Reebok Beatnik, has appeared.
Across the mule-like silhouette, we see darker shades of black, brown, and grey with hints of purple spotted on the velcro portion of the nylon strap. Overt nods to weed can be spotted on the footbed of the right pair with a weed leaf stamped on while the left pair reworks Reebok’s classic text into a hippy-like design. This same branding is found on the back of the nylon strap while the rest of the model features a flannel-esque pattern on its forefoot covering. Underfoot we see a creamy rubber outsole with a shark tooth-like traction pattern that features hints of brown in a speckled design.
The Reebok Beatnik 420 is set to release on April 1st, 2023 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
