Reebok’s time near the top of the performance basketball category is long gone. However, retro releases of silhouettes from the 90s and 2000s are still going down. Arguably the most popular technology during this time was Reebok’s Pump, which appeared on plenty of basketball models, including the Pump Omni Zone 2. Following a “Rec Center” themed colorway, a clean “Grey Purple Mint” rendition has appeared.
Taking on a combo of suede, leather, and TPU throughout its design, the sneaker primarily comes dressed in neutral shades. These easy-on-the-eyes colors take over the toebox and mudguard, which comes in white leather, while grey suede panels appear on the collar and midfoot. For its TPU cage on the midfoot, a black/purple finish is applied that matches the black laces and mesh along the tongue. More colorful hits come in the form of the Pump button atop the tongue and via the piping on the black collar. Visible near the midfoot is a purple snakeskin-like design that peeks through the white leather overlay on the heel. Hexalite and Reebok branding help finish the upper, while a black/white midsole paired with a black/mint rubber outsole completes the look.
The Reebok Pump Omni Zone 2 Grey Purple Mint will be released in 2023 through Reebok and select online and in-store retailers. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
