Though many sneakerheads guffaw at the idea of checking out Skechers releases, the LA-based footwear label has found major success with the casual market. Marking its entry into the performance basketball space, Skechers signed NBA superstar Joel Embiid alongside a roster of talent like Julius Randle and, more recently, WNBA star Rickea Jackson. Adding to the brand’s list of performance models, which already includes the SKX Nexus, SKX Float, and SKX Resagrip, a new mid-top dubbed the SKX Reign has appeared.
A durable and breathable mesh upper is present, providing comfort and breathability when on the court. Lockdown support is found via the midfoot wrap, which features nylon loops that connect to the lace set for an even more secure on-foot experience. The only visible Skechers branding is along the toe, with the brand’s S logo as part of the fused TPU reinforcement. Hyper Burst branding is on the lateral part of the midsole, which is the dual-density foam utilized inside the midsole and on the lightweight insole. At the same time, the silhouette is finished with a Goodyear rubber outsole.
The Skechers SKX Reign will debut online on November 15, 2024, through Skeckers in five colors: White Red Black, White Black Lime, Black, Black Purple Pink, and Crimson. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price has yet to be announced.
