James Whitner is staying busy with all of his labels. A Ma Maniere has been on a roll with Jordan Brand with an upcoming Air Jordan 2 Retro collab. On the other side of the tracks, Social Status has linked up with Nike Sportswear on two colorways of the Air Max Penny 1. The first colorway leaked in the beginning of 2022 while an official look at the second pair just surfaced. That’s not all either, as the retailer also has a couple of Nike Air Penny 2s on the way as well.
Both colorways of the Social Status x Nike Air Penny 2 have OG vibes on them, with the black-based pair reminiscent of the Orlando Away edition and the sail-based pair similar in style to the Atlantic Blues. First, let’s dive into the black, university blue, and white colorway. They feature a black-based suede upper with university blue accents, 3M reflective detailing, and a white midsole. Dual branding adorns the ankle and insoles with opposite branding on the bottom of the Zoom Air unit on the outsole.
The sail, university blue, and white pair also features a full suede upper, split between sail and blue. 3M reflective detailing, a smoke grey collar and liner, and branding in the same places as the black-based pair highlight this colorway. To top it off, Social Status kicked it up a notch with the packaging. Each pair comes with multiple extra sets of laces, a bronze keychain of the Nike Air Penny 2 and a special action figure-like shoe box, along with an appearance from the infamous Li'l Penny.
The Social Status x Nike Air Penny 2 in Black will release on October 13th, 2022 through Social Status' website while a Nike SNKRS release is set for October 19th, 2022. The Sail colorway is releasing at select retailers on October 19th as well, followed by a Social Status drop on November 4th and a SNKRS drop on November 10th, 2022. Coming in men’s sizes, the retail price is set at $200. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
