A Bathing Ape has long been a legend in the streetwear world and their high prices reflect the quality of many of their pieces, however, you can always turn up the quality by sourcing better materials and cobblers. Teaming up with German-based boutique Sole Box, A Bathing Ape is transporting the Japanese-made Bape Sta to Italy for a luxury makeover in a tonal grey colorway.
Much like their first linkup in 2021, the latest Sole Box x A Bathing Ape Bape Sta comes covered in premium Italian suede and features the German retailer's iconic graphic. A monochromatic grey shade takes over the entire upper while the aforementioned graphic comes in a slightly darker tone to stand out and pop off the sneaker. Running up the suede-covered tongue is a set of white laces, stopping just below the “Bape Sta” logo in black, however, the heel tab’s “Sole Box” text come in the same font the typical BAPE branding is found in. Moving to the sockliner, white leather takes over and adds an extra touch of luxury while the entire design is rounded out by a white Bape Sta midsole and rubber outsole.
The Solebox x A Bathing Ape Bape Sta is set to release on December 30th, 2022 through BAPE online and in-store at select BAPE locations. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at ¥52,800 (Approx $400 USD).
