“Oh my God, they killed Kenny!“ A phrase synonymous with the muffled kid from the hit animated series, South Park. Whether you’re an OG fan from the 90s or just got into the show recently, the deaths of Kenny McCormick throughout the years have made him a pop culture icon. Cementing his legacy even further, South Park and the brand with the Three Stripes honor Kenny with his own sneaker.
The adidas NMD R1 “Kenny” draws inspiration from his iconic look as well as his recurring deaths throughout the five seasons of South Park. These NMD’s boast an orange-based upper with red blood splatter hits throughout. A stitched-up toe runs up the middle of the sneaker from the toecap to the first set of eye stays. Black covers the outsole, as well as graphic hits on the Boost cushioned midsole while the phrase “OMGTKK” is found on the front bumper, a nod to the infamous “Oh my God they killed Kenny” phrase spoken by the South Park crew each time Kenny met his maker.
The South Park x adidas NMD R1 “Kenny” is set to release in 2022. It will launch at adidas as well as select retailers both in-store and online.
