New Balance has had one of its best years in recent memory thanks to collaborations with ALD, Joe Freshgoods, and soon with Jack Harlow on a pair of NB550s. Though their last link-up was in 2021, Stone Island and New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio are back once again with their experimental FuelCell RC Elite V2. Already being spotted in neon green and burgundy, the latest Stone Island x New Balance TDS FuelCell RC Elite V2 comes in a classic grey and red.
The silhouette embodies the legacy of design-led innovation and gimmick-free quality that pertains to both parties, coming with a 3D textured knit across its upper with suede overlays throughout. Around the toe, the grey suede comes with jagged edges that expose the previously mentioned 3D knit in an energy red, complemented by a 3D overlay of the NB logo on the right shoe and the Stone Island compass logo on the left. More jagged suede overlays make their way to the vamp, eyestays, and midfoot, home to a set of cream laces that work towards New Balance TDS and Stone Island branding on the right and left shoes respectively. Your N logo placed on the midfoot also comes ripped, taking on a grey tone with a cream backing that mimics both the laces and overlay stitched to the collar. More grey suede appears on the rear with white stitching details running from heel tab to collar. Underfoot, a white FuelCell cushioned midsole comes paired with a tri-toned red, white, and black rubber outsole.
The Stone Island x New Balance TDS FuelCell RC Elite V2 Rain Cloud Energy Red is set to release on July 8th, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $220. To stay updated on the latest from NB and Stone Island, keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app.
