Stussy’s partnership with Nike and its subsidiaries dates way back to the early 2000s as the at-the-time fledgling brand brought forth one of the most iconic Air Huarache colorways to date and has since become a key partnership for both brands. Outside of its Swoosh-covered designs, Stussy often teams up with Converse and in the last year has crafted a series of colorways across different silhouettes that infuse Stussy’s unique design language including a Surfman-dressed Chuck 70 Hi and a pack of magic 8-ball-laden sneakers. Now, following up their work on the Air Penny 2, Stussy brings another hemp-covered Converse Chuck 70 Hi, this time adding pearl details to the model.
The classic basketball-turned-lifestyle Chuck 70 Hi maintains its usual look (for the most part) as the model still features the iconic rubber toecap in a creamy hue and a simple construction across its upper. Naturally-shaded hemp covers the model with metallic silver eyestays hosting a tonal set of laces that reach the redesigned All-Star logo atop the tongue. Along the lateral midfoot, the standard Chuck Taylor star logo is replaced by Stussy’s interlocked “S” monogram and comes composed of pearl beads while the medial side hosts a blank hemp patch. Rounding out the design is the creamy sole unit with black accents and Converse branding on the heel paired with a dark brown gum rubber outsole.
Also launching alongside the new "Hemp Pearl" colorway will be a restock of the Stussy x Converse Chuck 70 "Black."
The Stussy x Converse Chuck 70 Hemp Pack is set to release first on March 24th, 2023 via Stussy. A wider release for the "Hemp Pearl" colorway and a restock of the "Black" is set to follow on March 30th, 2023 through SNKRS, select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
