With his Mars Yard sneakers taking the industry by storm, Nike and Tom Sachs came together in 2022 to create the “General Purpose Shoe,” originally launching (and continually restocking) in the "Studio" colorway. While we’ve seen multiple iterations pop up, from the "Sulfur" pair to a range of neutral tones, the latest Tom Sachs x Nike GPS sneaker to emerge comes in an earth tone brown.
Taking DNA from the Nike Killshot, the low-top silhouette comes with a mixture of fused overlays, suede, and mesh. Tonal browns cover the suede mudguard, eyestays, and heel, while the base layer gets a matching brown mesh. Slightly darker brown laces run up the tongue towards a Nike tongue tag and black pull-tab, also present back on the heel. On the reverse of the tag is a Tom Sachs branded info sheet in his signature handwriting. Along the midfoot, the Nike Swoosh comes constructed out of what appears to be a vinyl fused overlay, taking on yet another earth tone brown hue. Underfoot, a brown textured foam midsole gets paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe Brown is set to release on February 6th, 2023 through Tom Sachs website while a release through Nike SNKRS and select retailers worldwide will drop pairs on February 7th. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $110. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on the latest in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
