The world is gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France, and all eyes are on Team USA's basketball squads. The women's team, has a storied history with nine gold medals in just eleven Olympic appearances, boasting an impressive 70-3 record. With seven consecutive titles, they are a force to be reckoned with. Nike will capitalize on this momentum and showcase its latest basketball footwear during the games.
At the WNBA All-Star festivities this past weekend, Nike unveiled a series of player-exclusive colorways designed for the Women's Team USA Basketball squad. Among the standout models is Sabrina Ionescu's new Nike Sabrina 2. This PE colorway features a sleek white upper with a striking metallic red Swoosh. Navy accents enhance the heel and lateral TPU reinforcement, while a tonal safari print adds texture to the S-shaped overlay on the midfoot. A red version of the Sabrina 2, set to launch publicly, also showcases a white Swoosh and blue accents on the sole, providing a bold alternative.
LeBron James' signature line is also prominently featured. The LeBron 21 and LeBron NXXT Gen Ampd appear in Team USA-inspired colorways. The LeBron NXXT Gen Ampd boasts leather and engineered mesh construction with tonal safari print on the leather overlays. Seen in both sleek white and vibrant red versions, each colorway of the LeBron NXXT Gen Ampd features distinctive accents on the Swoosh, branding details on the heel, and the sole unit. The LeBron 21 has a striking red leather overlay adorned with tonal safari print details, contrasted by a white Swoosh and LeBron's signature atop the tongue. Navy details grace the white heel tab, completing the patriotic look. Underfoot, a white midsole pairs seamlessly with a red outsole, ensuring performance and style on the court.
The GT Cut 3 and GT Jump 2 models Nike's GT also represent Nike's GT series, each receiving a special Team USA makeover. Both pairs feature white finishes with subtle safari print detailing throughout the upper, staying true to Nike's commitment to blending performance with aesthetic appeal. These models retain their usual performance-heavy design features, ensuring athletes can compete at the highest level.
Not only is Nike giving ladies their colorways on these sneakers for the 2024 Olympics, but it will be introducing two signature models from women, Caitlin Clark and A’Ja Wilson, in 2025, signifying the brand’s commitment to women in basketball.
