Wale Debuts a New Nike GT Future Colorway in Blue
Published
At NBA All-Star Weekend, Nike dominated the news cycle. The Swoosh launched a variety of upcoming Air Jordan retros early, including the Jordan 4 White Cement, Jordan 5 Grape, Nike SB x Air Jordan 4, and much more, and showcased some of its latest innovations. The most notable of these debuts was the Nike GT Future, a Foamposite-inspired performance basketball sneaker expected to launch in Holiday 2025. A month removed from this, Wale, one of the first to be spotted in this model, has worn a new colorway again.
It’s quite fitting that Nike continues to allow Wale to preview the upcoming sneaker, as his connection to Nike Basketball is deep-rooted—having consistently been seen in unreleased and exclusive Foamposite colorways during the 2010s. Promoting his upcoming single, which drops later this week, the DMV artist is rocking an unseen blue colorway of the GT Future. The silhouette’s no-sew one-piece construction leans into the Foamposite and Hyperflight design language, featuring molded striations along the profile.

Exclusive to these colors spotted on Wale are LED Swoosh logos on the tongue, which will come without the light-up feature once the sneaker comes to retail. More Swoosh branding is found on the medial side. The futuristic design also comes coated in a gradient 3M reflective material, giving the sneaker a two-tone-like appearance when hit with flash.
While release details for this specific Nike GT Future remain a mystery, the sneaker will release Holiday 2025 in multiple colorways for $190.
