Wale Debuts the Nike GT Future Electric Green at Dreamville Fest 2025

The Nike GT Future is poised to be Nike’s next big on-and-off-court hit. The performance basketball model leans into streetwear with its Y2K-inspired design language, borrowing from the Foamposite and Hyperflight. Since its debut at NBA All-Star Weekend, the perennial face of the franchise has been Wale, who so far has debuted a Volt, Blue, and Orange rendition of the sneaker. The DMV artist has again been spotted in a new colorway of the GT Future.

While attending and performing at J.Cole’s Dreamville Fest over the weekend, Wale sported an Electric Green colorway of the GT Future. Akin to the blue pair he wore before his latest single release, this electric green colorway features an ombre effect that transitions from a deep green near the sole to a bright green on the top portion of the upper. More vibrant green shades line the collar and take over the tongue, marking the first colorway that doesn’t cover the tongue in black.

Even still, the laces and overlay on the tongue are black, surrounding the LED light-up Swoosh, which, unfortunately for us, will not make it to retail versions of the sneaker. Final details include the metallic silver Swoosh on the lateral heel and medial toe, perforations on the media midfoot, and a tonal green rubber outsole.

The Nike GT Future Electric Green has no confirmed release date at this time, but we do know the GT Future, in general, will have its first release Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers for $190.
