Released back in 1984, the adidas Forum was once MJ’s shoe of choice and the footwear option for many basketball players before more modern technology took over the basketball shoe industry. With the Dunk craze driving sneaker culture, adidas decided to release the Forum silhouette in its original 1984 build, though their latest collaborator has chosen to put their touch on its modern-day version. WOOD WOOD, the Danish retailer, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary with the help of three colorways on the adidas Forum Low.
Dressed in a supple off white leather across the majority of the sneaker, all three colorways, "Red," "Yellow," and "Blue," get accenting colors on the Three Stripes branding, heel guard, collar, and sockliner. Running up the tongue is a set of cream laces that reach the co-branded adidas and WOOD WOOD label, also borrowing the accenting color on each of the three colorways. Unlike most pairs of Forum’s, the lockdown strap is removed to convey a tennis-style sneaker rather than its heritage basketball history. Piping the collar is a suede overlay that borrows the accenting hue, matching the sockliner nearby. Standard insoles are swapped for a leather build with adidas and WOOD WOOD 20th Anniversary text embossed in white. Just above the midsole near the heel is a plastic overlay in a contrasting shade compared to the rest of the silhouette. Rounding out the look is the white midsole paired with a gum rubber outsole.
All three colorways of the WOOD WOOD x adidas Forum Low are currently available on woodwood.com with the Blue colorway exclusive to the retailer. A wider release through adidas and select retailers is expected on July 21st, 2022. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $105.
