Even though BAPE and Nike settled their legal troubles, forcing BAPE to change their footwear models, which infringed on Nike's trade dress and ceased production and sales of specific models, other models like the Road STA were unaffected by this suit. For BAPE's latest release of the Road STA model, they're teaming up with Microsoft's Xbox console, launching alongside a series of apparel.
The Xbox x BAPE Road STA Camo features a custom BAPE ABC Camo pattern integrated with Xbox branding in a black-and-white color palette. Contrasting this is solid black on the mudguard, midfoot panel, and heel tab/overlay. Green hues accentuate the edge of the vamp and the iconic BAPE star logo, adorned with the Xbox BAPE ABC Camo pattern.
BAPE branding is prominently displayed on the tongue, while the insole features a unique APE head logo combined with the Xbox logo. More co-branding continues on the heel, where A BATHING APE and Xbox logos are placed side by side. Completing the design is a white foam midsole with a see-through cushion in the heel, reminiscent of Nike's Air unit, paired with a black rubber outsole for traction and durability.
The Xbox x BAPE Road STA Camo will release on July 13, 2024, through BAPE online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at ¥31,900 (approx $200 USD).
