2025 marks the 25th birthday of Japanese-based retailer atmos, and the label is going all-out to celebrate this anniversary. We’ve seen previews of multiple projects early in the new year, including the adidas ZX 8000 G-SNK 10 Pack, a bandana-inspired New Balance 1000, and a pink colorway of the New Balance 740. Adding to the 25th anniversary celebrations is an adidas Tobacco collab inspired by ancient Japanese Yakusugi cedar.
The low-top terrace silhouette is coated in a premium waterproof brown suede finish across most of its paneling, accented by green velvet on the Three Stripes and heel tab. More brown details land on the laces, tongue, and leather sockliner. Atop the tongue is a golden adidas Tobacco logo, with an added wooden hangtag containing branding for the silhouette alongside atmos.

Moving inside the sneaker, we see “atmos 25th Anniversary” stamped in a golden hue that matches the co-branded insole. Here, the “nenrin” theme, which in Japanese refers to the rings found on tree trunks, is directly referenced as the insole contains a graphic depicting rings. Specifically, the 1,000-year-old trees in Yakushima, an island famous for its cedar forest, inspire the tree motif. Finishing the design is the brown rubber midsole and outsole.
The atmos x adidas Tobacco Nenrin will release on February 21, 2025, through atmos and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at ¥18,700 (approx $120 USD).
