Kyrie Irving first launched his signature sneaker with ANTA, the ANTA Kai 1, in March 2024, meaning the superstar missed bringing forth a sneaker designed for NBA All-Star Weekend. Although Irving was snubbed from the All-Star team this year, he and ANTA have crafted a brand-new colorway of the ANTA Kai 1 Speed to pay tribute to Kyrie’s unorthodox training methods using plastic grocery bags to refine hand coordination and ball control.
Bodega-inspired shopping bag designs are incorporated into the white and metallic silver upper of the Kai 1 Speed. Text like “Thank You For Shopping With Us” contrasts the neutral hues as they come in bright, vibrant red and volt green colors. Semi-translucent TPU hits the base layer and works back to the midfoot, accented by more pops of red on the cable system on the medial side and the metallic silver ANTA logo on the lateral.

More of the bag graphics are applied to the white leather vamp and eyelets, reaching back near the black nylon pull tab and finding a home on the insole. Below, the white and silver midsole features plenty of Kyrie branding and contains the Full-Palm Nitro Edge foam. Finishing the sneaker is the white rubber outsole.
The ANTA Kai 1 Speed Bag Work will release on February 13, 2025, through ANTA and Foot Locker online and in-store. For All-Star Weekend, a special in-store activation will occur at Foot Locker in San Francisco. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $125 and $100, respectively.
