Air Jordan 4 Shoes

The Air Jordan 4 (IV) was the second Air Jordan designed by legendary sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield and was debuted by Michael Jordan during the 1989 NBA All-Star Game in Houston. MJ would go on to wear the AJ 4 throughout the entirety of the '88-'89 NBA season. While "His Airness" didn't win a title in the Jordan 4, iconic moments like "The Shot" where MJ eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs in a pair of Jordan 4 Breds and the shoe's feature in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" catapulted Nike's Jordan line to meteoric heights. 

Nostalgia aside, the Jordan 4 didn't introduce any new technology from its Jordan 3 predecessor. That said, its streamlined design not only made it a lighter shoe, but paired with Hatfield's unique "Wings" lacing system, appealed aesthetically to the masses and made the sneaker popular both on and off the court. Four OG colorways released between 1988 and '89 - the Bull's-inspired Bred and Fire Red along with the Military Blue and White Cement. Fast forward to today, the sneakers popularity persists, though now worn almost exclusively as a "lifestyle" sneaker. While the OG colorways remain some of the most popular, Jordan Brand have kept things fresh with collaborations with the likes of KAWS and Virgil Abloh's Off-White.
