Since the New Balance 1000 was revived last April, it has become a mainstay in the company’s release calendar. The Metallic Silver colorway kicked things off on the GR front, combining the Y2K silver shades with black and cream hits. However, a not-too-dissimilar rendition is set to launch in the coming months.
This Black Metallic Silver colorway opts for a slightly different construction but features the same metallic silver leather paneling on the upper. While the OG came with a jersey mesh base, this pair chose a tighter weave for its mesh panel, which is visible between the wavy leather panels on the top and bottom half of the upper. Another difference comes in the colors chosen for the branding details, as the N logo opts for a grey finish with black outlines, and the 1000 text comes coated in black near the toe and heel.

The laces opt for a black finish that sharply contrasts the metallic silver leather strip running down the spine of the tongue. Down below, the sole unit comes coated in a dark grey finish, starkly different from the cream shade used on the OG. The black rubber outsole finishes the design.
The New Balance 1000 Black Metallic Silver will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $150.
