After a three-year hiatus, New Balance finally revived the iconic 992 Made in USA from the vault. The silhouette was originally released in 2006 as part of the brand’s 100th Anniversary celebrations and was famously the go-to sneaker for Steve Jobs for years. Four core colorways were released at midnight today, including the Grey, Black, Triple Black, and Nimbus Cloud. In contrast, a fifth classic New Balance colorway, Navy, has just appeared via official imagery.
Sticking to the traditional Navy color scheme used on all Made in USA sneakers, the pair is identical to the version released early in the decade. Premium pigskin suede in a deep navy blue hue lines the mudguard, midfoot panel, eyelets, and heel, while a lighter navy shade is on the mesh base below. Dark grey leather appears on the toebox overlays, eyestay, and collar, contrasting the stark white hues outlining the silver N logo and the white lace set.

More white details are found on branding like the New Balance, N, and 992 text on the tongue. Another hit of 992 branding is found on the lateral collar, sitting on a small 3M reflective leather patch. The two-tone white and cream midsole with Abzorb cushioning paired with a black rubber outsole finishes the design.
The New Balance 992 Made in USA Navy will release in March 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
