2025 is starting to look like the year of the 992 for New Balance, as the Boston-based footwear brand has big plans for the model. They’ve already dropped four core colors of the Made in USA model: Black, Triple Black, Grey, and Nimbus Cloud, and they have plans for more, like an inline Navy and collabs with Kith and Action Bronson. On top of this, the first drop from Teddy Santis’ new seasonal Made in USA collection will include a Moonrock Mushroom colorway of the 992.
Teddy’s eye for neutral and refined color palettes once again shines here on the 992, with a similar mushroom-shaded 997 launching on the same date. Here, the model comes coated in a mixture of classic New Balance moonrock on the hairy pigskin suede overlays and the smooth leather panels on the midfoot and eyelets. Below this sits a cream mesh base, contrasting the brown suede toebox and collar overlay.

Moving toward the tongue, a cream jersey mesh allows the white lace set and tan suede overlay to shine, the latter hosting more white hues on its New Balance branding. Nearby, the N logo gets a metallic silver makeover outlined in white, while the insole features white text with its retro New Balance logo. Rounding out the design is the white and cream foam midsole paired with a light grey and cream rubber outsole.
The New Balance 992 Made in USA Moonrock Mushroom will release March 27, 2025, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
