Teddy Santis and New Balance are cooking up something special for 2025. The Aime Leon Dore, founder and head of NB’s Made in USA Collection, will continue the seasonal collection of MiUSA models and help introduce brand-new silhouettes through collaborations with ALD. Before we can get these models, the inline Made in USA collection will finally release a 997, which was initially expected to drop last year.
Similar to the upcoming 990v6 Made in USA Light Mushroom Moonrock, the pair features a neutral color palette of NB’s favorite greyscale hues. Premium pigskin suede takes over the mudguard, midfoot panel, and heel overlay, while a fuzzy suede finish in brown appears on the vamp and tongue. Along the toebox, we see a diamond-shaped mesh pattern in grey that matches the silver-grey shade of the N logo on the midfoot.

Tan details line the TPU panel along the collar, contrasting with the light grey suede lining. Aside from the aforementioned N logo, New Balance branding is white on the tongue and heel, embroidered into the suede paneling. Below, the midsole has a two-tone white and cream finish and a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 997 Made in USA Light Mushroom Mirage Grey will release March 27, 2025, through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $190. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
