The Teddy Santis-helmed Made in USA line from New Balance had a stellar 2024. The label brought back some models from the archive, notably the 997, and pushed forward with new colorways of the latest 99X sneaker, the 990v6. While we all await the drop of Action Bronson’s two new 990v6 colorways, previews of a pair likely part of Santis’ Season 7 Made in USA collection have appeared.
Taking on classic neutral colors often associated with the Boston-based footwear brand, this Light Mushroom Moonrock 990v6 features premium materials and clean colorblocking. Light grey shades line the smooth leather panels around the mudguard, midfoot, eyestays, and heel overlay, while perforated nubuck in a similar tone is present along the toebox. A darker grey color is used for the collar overlay, contrasting with the light cream N logo on the midfoot.

The most significant contrast comes not from the silver-white mesh base and stark white tongue but from the faded blue leather overlay along the tongue. The New Balance 990v6 branding is displayed in metallic silver, matching the 990 logo applied to the lateral heel. Finishing the design is the two-tone tan and cream FuelCell-cushioned foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance 990v6 Made in USA Light Mushroom Moonrock will release sometime in 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $200. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
