No series of sneakers exemplifies New Balance’s pursuit of craftsmanship and comfort than the 99X series, with the latest entry being the 990v6. Since its first release in 2022, it has become a mainstay in the Made in USA lineup, many of which have come under Teddy Santis’ seasonal collection. However, the latest 990v6 to appear, outside of the recent teasers from Action Bronson, recalls a 990v4 and 990v5 colorway from years prior.
Taking on the same Sunrise Rose color palette and a similar colorblocking found on the two predecessors to the v6, the sneaker features its usual premium material makeup that combines pigskin suede, perforated nubuck, mesh, and TPU. The titular hue appears on the woven mesh base, visible along the toe, midfoot, and collar, while the same shade is applied to the pigskin suede on the mudguard, midfoot, heel, and eyestays. A slightly lighter coral pink is present on the perforated nubuck along the toe and midfoot, contrasting the orange of the N logo.

More hits of this orange shade appear on the mesh sockliner, TPU top eyelet, the heel tab, and the New Balance text atop the tongue. Final details on the upper include tonal sunrise rose hits on the laces and tongue, pops of purple on the New Balance branding on the insole, and the 990 stamp on the lateral heel. Down below, the sneaker has a grey and white 990v6 midsole containing FuelCell cushioning and a black and grey rubber outsole.
The New Balance 990v6 Made in USA Sunrise Rose will release in Spring 2025 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
