In 1997, Nike launched the now-iconic Air Foamposite line by releasing the Foamposite One and Foamposite Pro. While the One model became the go-to and the more popular, the Pro variant still has a deep history and is beloved by die-hard sneakerheads. Now, after the return of the Foamposite Pro with the Wolf Grey colorway in 2024 and the news that 2011’s Foamposite Pro Pine Green will be returning in Holiday 2025, Nike is giving us an OG colorway on the model with the Pearl rendition.
Part of the sneaker’s original 1997 run, the Pearl colorway has come to us a handful of times and was made famous when Ray Allen sported the pair in his portrayal of the fictional basketball phenom Jesus Shuttlesworth in the 1998 film He Got Game. After this initial 1997 drop, the sneaker would return for its first retro in 2009 as a House of Hoops-exclusive release, though fans were displeased at the slight gold tint to the pearl upper and the lack of a gum outsole.

After this, the sneaker was retroed in 2010 and again in 2015, the latter coming as part of the Class of ‘97 Pack alongside the Zoom Flight Hawk. For this new retro, we expect the pair to be closer to the original 1997 release with a pearl-shaded Foamposite upper accented by black accents on the tongue, lace set, collar, internal bootie, and eyelets. Pops of red appear on the nylon lace loops on the tongue and heel, and the Swoosh logo appears on the heel tab. Finishing the design is the black Swoosh on the midfoot, the black faux carbon fiber plate on the midfoot, and (hopefully) a gum rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Foamposite Pro Pearl will release in Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $230.
