Last year, adidas introduced its super shoe that rivaled all super shoes in the running category, the adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1. The sneaker is 40% lighter than any of its predecessors. It contains Lightstrike Pro foam crafted via a non-compression molding method to reduce weight, and the upper was constructed with a featherweight mesh. While the $500 price point and ultra-limited availability make it a rare sight, adidas is taking inspiration and DNA from this design to non-race moments (and more customers) with the all-new adidas Adizero Evo SL.
The product and design team at adidas set out to democratize the top benefits of the Adizero franchise with the new Adizero Evo SL, and you can tell they accomplished this with the tech specs. The shoe is the lightest training sneaker in adidas’ entire running line, weighing approximately 188g for women and 224g for men. This lightweight build is possible thanks to the engineered mesh upper and the Lightstrike Pro midsole below, the latter directly borrowed from the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1. adidas has prepared the model in a white and black colorway for its launch, applying clean white shades across the engineered mesh and the midsole. Black accents pop on the Three Stripes that extend down to the sole and on the Adizero text along the tongue.
The adidas Adizero Evo SL White Black will debut on October 15, 2024, exclusively through the adidas app. A wider release will take place in March 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
