Considering the adidas AE 1's success for the German sportswear brand, it’s no surprise they’ve decided to ride this high and delay Anthony Edwards’ second signature sneaker to next year. Right now, we would have seen the debut of the sneaker, but instead, adidas has been inundating with more and more AE 1 Low colorways, including pairs like the Best of Adi 2.0, PE to Retail, and Metamorphosis. Adding to Spring 2025’s release calendar is the Champagne Metallic colorway of the AE 1 Low.
Like many AE 1s, this new colorway sticks to a primarily two-tone color scheme, retaining the black Primeblue knit around the vamp, eyestays, and heel. Contrasting this dark hue is the champagne-shaded generative support wing, which features the now-iconic honeycomb appearance and has a similarly shaded mesh below. Back on the heel sits a faux carbon fiber heel counter, hosting a burst of lucid blue thanks to the Three Stripes design.
Another pop of this blue shade is the Anthony Edwards logo along the pull tab of the black neoprene tongue. As for the model’s technical features, we do see some slight changes compared to the original AE 1. On the low-top, the construction of the vamp and tongue allows for more “give” as the neoprene tongue is less restricted, while we also see the sole unit swap out the Jet Boost cushioning for Lightboost pucks in the heel and forefoot.
The adidas AE 1 Low Champagne Metallic will release on February 15, 2025, through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $110 and $90, respectively.
